Technical owner for C2PA manifests: JPEG APP11 / JUMBF, PNG caBX, WebP credential chunks, and
Content Credentials XMP. Inspect the file, strip the manifest, verify the cleaned bytes — all in the browser.
Metadata-only. Not SynthID / TrustMark removal. Platform AI labels are not guaranteed gone after cleaning.
C2PA (Content Credentials) is a Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity spec. Tools store a signed manifest beside the pixels. Remove AI Meta rewrites the container so those boxes and pointers are gone from JPEG, PNG, and WebP. That is a different job from remove AI metadata in general language, and from Instagram AI Info which is the social-product framing of the same class of tags.
| Format | C2PA / Content Credentials | EXIF / GPS | AI text / XMP |
|---|---|---|---|
| JPEG | APP11 / JUMBF segments; XMP pointers | APP1 Exif | APP1 XMP; IPTC APP13 |
| PNG | caBX chunk | eXIf | tEXt / iTXt / zTXt (e.g. parameters) |
| WebP | C2PA / caBX-class RIFF chunks | EXIF chunk | XMP chunk |
| Mode | Removes | Keeps (typical) |
|---|---|---|
| AI provenance (default) | C2PA/JUMBF, Content Credentials XMP, AI DigitalSourceType, known AI PNG text | Ordinary camera EXIF when it is not AI/C2PA-linked |
| Privacy EXIF | GPS, device/camera EXIF, common IPTC (+ C2PA by default) | Pixels only — privacy-first pass |
| Strip all | All detected EXIF / XMP / IPTC / C2PA categories in the report | Image payload / structural chunks |
SynthID / TrustMark / soft-binding watermarks are not ordinary EXIF or C2PA metadata. Remove AI Meta does not claim pixel-watermark removal, “undetectable AI”, or guaranteed platform AI-label erasure. If Instagram still shows AI Info after a clean verify pass, the signal was not (only) file metadata.
HEIC/HEIF: not shipped client-side yet. Export to JPEG / PNG / WebP first — we will not fake HEIC support.
A stripped file can still contain pixel watermarks. Camera EXIF is a separate privacy pass — remove EXIF and GPS if that is the job. We never claim “undetectable AI”. Competitors that blur C2PA with SynthID (common on aimetadatacleaner / removeailabel-style pages) are selling a different product.
After Clean & verify, the After panel re-scans the cleaned bytes with category groups (C2PA, AI, XMP…). C2PA chips should clear when the manifest lived in a path we rewrite — MetaStrip / Vaultaire-level readability without overselling detector evasion.
Free core ships today — single-file inspect, clean, and verify with no account. Pro batch uses a no-login Waffo checkout shell (same pattern as sister tools) and stays soft-disabled until product payment secrets are wired.
Payments soft-disabled until Remove AI Meta WAFFO_* secrets and product IDs are set on Pages. Free core stays fully usable.
